Zigzag, a browser for the Mac
Shanghai on Friday.
New York by Sunday.
Work on Monday.
Give each part of your life its own space, with its own tabs and its own color. Swipe between them; nothing spills over.
Shanghai
The Aman on one side, Wukang Mansion on the other.
Split view puts two pages in one window: the hotel, and the walk down Huaihai Road you’re planning from it.
New York
Look it up without leaving Katz’s.
Shift-click a link and it opens over the page you’re on. Read about the pastrami on rye, then press Escape and carry on.
Already open
Type katz. It’s the tab you already have.
Press Command-T and start typing. Zigzag finds the tab before it opens a new one, so the same page never turns up twice.
The whole weekend
Every tab, laid out like a contact sheet.
Shift-Command-Backslash shows every space at once. Pick the one you meant, or clear out a few.
Studio
The Bauhaus, set like a magazine.
Reader keeps the words and the pictures and drops everything else: big type, a lead photograph, pictures in the margin.
And the rest of it.
- Passwords
- Kept in your Mac’s Keychain and filled in with a click. A strong one for every new account.
- Extensions
- Add them from the Chrome Web Store. Zigzag shows what each one can see first.
- Blocking
- Ads and trackers stopped as pages load. Turn it off for a site you want to support.
- Private windows
- No history, no cookies, no extensions. Close the window and it’s gone.
- Translate
- Pages translated on your Mac with Apple’s translation. The text never leaves it.
- Switching
- Bring bookmarks, history and passwords from Arc, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Dia, Vivaldi or Opera. Arc spaces come over as they were.
